The greater part of the story revolves around two non-identical twin sisters, Vivian and Vanessa, offspring of the unique maternal lineage of strong, gifted, intelligent, and relatively independent women. Vivian believes in always getting her own way, while boisterous and pretty sister, Vanessa is reckless in her enjoyment of attentions of men.
