Description

Moonsongs provide a dense, sometimes surreal, pervasively lyrical confrontation with mutability and protean profiles of relentless seasons. The moon is a complex of masks; a versatile shuttle between night and day, sea and sky, castle and slum. Moonsongs is a sensitive echo of the footsteps of time.

Niyi Osundare lectures in the Department of English at the University of Ibadan. He is the joint winner of the 1986 commonwealth prize for poetry.
